T-Mobile ‘Does Not Discriminate’ Against Adult Sites With Its BingeOn Service

T-Mobile has been plugging the heck out of its BingeOn service, which boils down to being able to stream from video providers without brushing up against your data cap. But one particular question lingers: What about the video content from adult sites?

Well, good news for business travelers, people without laptops, teenagers, and that one guy on the bus nobody sits next to. When asked during a live Q&A about this pressing question, T-Mobile CEO John Legere had this to say:

Yes, that is T-Mobile’s CEO stating that indeed, adult sites will be added to the provider’s BingeOn perk, so you can stream from them to your heart’s content. Well, to something’s content, anyway.

Joking aside, it is fairly open-minded of T-Mobile to allow this. Unlike your broadband provider, T-Mobile has no obligation to treat adult sites the same as Netflix. It’s true that these services do face a legal grey area, but T-Mobile could easily force adult sites to take them to court over this issue, and isn’t.

That said, as the news gets out there and people celebrate and/or fulminate, this might become quite controversial. It’s unlikely the kind of people who go ballistic over adult sites in the first place will let this pass without comment. And it’s not clear which sites will get approval just yet. Still, soon you’ll be able to enjoy. Just enjoy in private, for crying out loud.
