Hugh Laurie Possibly Returning To American TV As A Pirate (And The Morning Links)

Our boy Neil Cross, the man behind Idris Elba’s Luther, is developing a 10-epiosde mini-series for NBC called Crossbones, about notorious pirate Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard, who in 1715 reigned over a rogue nation of thieves, outlaws and miscreant sailors. NBC is currently talking to Hugh Laurie — who would get to keep his British accent — about taking the role, according to Deadline. Neil Cross + Hugh Laurie + Pirates = Awesome. NBC = GODDAMNIT.
