Freddie Prinze, Jr. Really Did Not Like Working With Kiefer Sutherland On ’24’

The year is 2009. Freddie Prinze, Jr. has been cast as Cole Ortiz in the eighth — and what was assumed at the time to be final — season of 24. He is shoeless and miserable, and it is all Kiefer Sutherland’s fault.

“I did 24, it was terrible. I hated every moment of it,” Prinze said. “Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash, I’d say it to his face, I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that.”

“I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE for Christ’s sake and it was a crazier job than working with Kiefer,” he said. “But, at least he was cool and tall. I didn’t have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do. Just put the guy on an apple box or don’t hire me next time. You know I’m 6 feet and he’s 5’4.” [ABC News]

Here’s what I want to know: How long has this been eating at Freddie Prinze, Jr.? Because the Season 8 finale aired well over four years ago, and he was wrapped on set months before that. Has he been seething for five straight years about this? You don’t generally jump straight to “put the guy on an apple box” unless you’re holding a pretty intense grudge. Yup, I’m gonna need everyone keep asking Freddie Prinze, Jr. questions about Kiefer Sutherland. I want to see if we can get him to confess to, like, egging Kiefer’s house in 2012 or something. Possibly with Vince McMahon. I hear that guy is cool. Cool and tall.
