“The NFL should have beaten Ray Rice to the punch on domestic violence.” That fictional lede that I just came up with is still better than the one the NY Times published in an article about Shonda Rhimes:
When Shonda Rhimes writes her autobiography, it should be called “How to Get Away With Being an Angry Black Woman.” (Via)
Not “I’m One of the Most Successful People, Man or Woman, Working In TV Today” or “Wait, Grey’s Anatomy Has Been On HOW Many Seasons,” but “How to Get Away With Being an Angry Black Woman.” After reading the piece by Alessandra Stanley, a preview/review of her new show How to Get Away with Murder (which should prove more educational than How to Kill a Mockingbird), Rhimes, who’s only listed as an executive producer, responded on Twitter:
Confused why @nytimes critic doesn't know identity of CREATOR of show she's reviewing. @petenowa did u know u were "an angry black woman"?

Final thing: (then I am gonna do some yoga): how come I am not "an angry black woman" the many times Meredith (or Addison!) rants? @nytimes

Wait. I'm" angry" AND a ROMANCE WRITER?!! I'm going to need to put down the internet and go dance this one out. Because ish is getting real.

Stanley is SHOCKED that she didn’t reply with, “AW HELL NAH.”
