‘The Kids’ Is Another Hilarious ‘SNL’ Deleted Sketch By Mike O’Brien

The best parts of this weekend’s SNL Halloween-themed episode were Jim Carrey as Matthew McConaughey from his Lincoln commercials and Vanessa Bayer as Daisy Rose on Weekend Update. The rest of the sketches were … okay? I don’t know. Let’s go with “okay.” Which makes the exclusion of this sketch, titled “The Kids,” really frustrating. It’s better than okay. It’s good. It’s really good. Weird and a little creepy, too, but mostly just really, really good.

The sketch is by Mike O’Brien, who has been making a habit of killing these things lately. Perhaps you remember “Whites” from a few weeks ago, or his “Dragon Babies” sketch from last season in which he played a former cop named Rick Shoulders who was getting into the voiceover game. God, I loved that sketch. Let’s all agree to never delete Mike O’Brien’s stuff again. Deal? Deal.
