Jimmy Fallon Parodied The ‘Fresh Prince’ Theme Song To Celebrate The L.A. Return Of ‘The Tonight Show’

The Tonight Show returned to Los Angeles yesterday for the first time since the Reign of Jay, and you just knew Jimmy Fallon and the Roots would celebrate the cross-country trip with an inspired musical number.

They went all out last night, opening their weeklong stay in L.A. with a parody of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song. “The Fresh Host of Tonight” had nearly ever component of the iconic opening title sequence, including Higgins playing a nagging mom figure, enthusiastic head-spinning, cameos from the original cast, and Questlove and the Roots playing key roles (and providing the Philadelphia, um… roots).
