UPROXX 20: Billy Gardell’s Boyhood Crushes Were On Wonder Woman And The Bionic Woman

Billy Gardell is an actor and comedian probably best known for portraying “Mike” on the CBS sitcom, Mike & Molly. You may have also seen him on My Name Is Earl and in films like Bad Santa and You, Me and Dupree. Currently, Gardell is the host of Monopoly Millionaires’ Club, a weekly one-hour gameshow featuring lottery players from around the country. Check playmmc.com for local listings.

Billy was nice enough to take a few minutes out of his busy schedule recently to answer a few questions from us.

1. You walk into a bar. What do you order from the bartender?

These days? Cranberry and soda water. Old days, Jameson straight up, on the rocks.

2. Who’s your favorite person to follow on Twitter?

I have a couple. Andy Richter and Nick Griffin make me laugh the hardest.

3. What’s currently waiting for you on your DVR/TiVO?

Usually the latest episode of Game of Thrones.

4. It’s your last meal — what are you going out with?

My wife and son.

5. What websites do you visit on a regular basis?

Probably Travelocity or Delta since I travel so much as a comedian. There’s also this vinyl website that I go to a lot cause I like records called SoundStageDirect. It’s a mom and pop operation in Pennsylvania that I love.

6. What’s the most frequently played song on your mobile device?

I’m a real music nut. I have 2,000 songs on all of my machines at any time. Lately, it’s been “Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone.

7. The first face that comes to mind when you think “punchable?”

I don’t really have one!

8. What’s the last thing you googled?

Directions!

9. Dogs or cats?

Neither, allergic.

10. Best concert of your life was…?

Been to a lot of concerts, but I would have to say Counting Crows at the Greek Theatre in LA.

11. What book are you most likely to give as a gift?

Anything by John D. MacDonald, Carl Hiaasen or Mark Twain.

12. What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?

My wife once told me that I run towards responsibility.

13. South Park or Family Guy?

Family Guy.

14. You have an entire day to do whatever you want. What would you do?

Well, if its football season, I’d watch football starting with the Steelers. If it’s not football season, I’d like to be home with my family. I’m always out running around, so I’d like to stay home and cook and swim and just hang out with my family.

15. What movie can you not resist watching if it’s on?

The Godfather or Rocky.

16. The sports team or teams you’re most passionate about?

The Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.

17. Where did you eat the best meal of your life?

This one’s tough. I’ve eaten some meals! I would have to say, when my grandmother was alive, it was definitely a meal she cooked at her house.

18. The last movie you saw in a theater?

The Avengers. I have an 11-year-old. (It was awesome.)

19. Who was your first celebrity crush?

My first celebrity crush would have to have been the Bionic Woman/Lindsay Wagner and Wonder Woman/Lynda Carter.

20. What would you cook if Nic Cage was coming to your house for dinner?

He drank in Leaving Las Vegas, so we’d have to have wine. He saved the Earth in The Rock in San Francisco, so we’d definitely have seafood. Then, we’d end dinner with some monumental cake since he was in National Treasure.
