HBO released this teaser for Season 2 of The Leftovers today, and… I’m sorry, what is happening on this show again? Oh, right: The creative reboot. The upcoming season will supposedly show how the rest of the world is dealing with the departures. And, if this teaser is to be taken at face value, that will apparently involve a town where no departures took place, that people are lined up in their cars trying to get into.
So far, the series has focused on how people are dealing with the loss, not why they disappeared… but it seems like introducing a plot about a town of 9,621 people where no one departed would be frustrating without at least acknowledging the “why?” Maybe that’s just me.
Season 2 of The Leftovers premieres this fall.
