UPROXX 20: Tina Huang Of ‘Rizzoli & Isles’ Is Not Down With Clowns

Tina Huang is an actress probably best known for portraying Susie Chang on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles. You may have also seen her on shows like Hollywood Heights and General Hospital. You may have also seen her in films like Drive and Larry Crowne. Season 6 of Rizzoli & Isles premiered on June 16, and airs on Tuesday nights at 9/8c on TNT.

Tina was nice enough to take a few minutes out of her busy schedule recently to answer a few questions from us.

1. You walk into a bar. What do you order from the bartender?

Bourbon, neat. Still waiting to spout chest hair.

2. Who’s your favorite person to follow on Twitter?

Does @EmrgencyKittens count as a person?

3. What’s currently waiting for you on your DVR/TiVO?

I don’t have a DVR/TiVo! But I’m a binge-watching cord-cutter who subscribes to Netflix, Hulu Plus, AmazonPrime, HBO and PBS. I’m all about shows with strong female leads and ensemble casts like Orange Is the New Black, Orphan Black, Veep, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, and Downton Abbey.

4. It’s your last meal — what are you going out with?

I don’t eat much meat, but if it’s my last meal, it’s between a beautiful cut of steak or crispy fried chicken. Mashed potatoes is a must.

5. What websites do you visit on a regular basis?

Uproxx of course! New York Times and Los Angeles Times to keep on top of the news. EV Grieve and LAist to keep on top of my neighborhood news.

6. What’s the most frequently played song on your mobile device?

I have a Bill Withers station on Pandora, but every time I Bluetooth connect my phone to my car, it automatically plays that U2 album…

7. The first face that comes to mind when you think “punchable?”

A clown face. I am afraid of clowns, and that would be the knee jerk…er, fist jerk reaction.

8. What’s the last thing you googled?

“Where to find delicious food in Edinburgh.”

9. Dogs or cats?

You’ve cat to be kitten meow (see above).

10. Best concert of your life was…?

Ani DiFranco in a small venue in Florence, Italy… it was magical and super intimate.

11. What book are you most likely to give as a gift?

The Art Spirit by Robert Henri.

12. What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?

When my mother passed away, my friends kept me company and kept bringing me food.

13. South Park or Family Guy?

South Park.

14. You have an entire day to do whatever you want. What would you do?

I would do something I have never done before, like bungee jump, or sail on the ocean, or surf in a foreign and beautiful place, and eat delicious local food. I’m down for any adventure!

15. What movie can you not resist watching if it’s on?

Shawshank Redemption.

16. The sports team or teams you’re most passionate about?

The ‘93-’94 Knicks!

17. Where did you eat the best meal of your life?

Many years ago in Assisi, Italy, I followed my nose to a small restaurant and ate the BEST steak ever, seasoned and cooked to perfection, plus the added ingredient of care and love. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. That last meal question has got me thinking about steak!

18. The last movie you saw in a theater?

Jurassic World 3D like everyone else who was nostalgic for the first movie.

19. Who was your first celebrity crush?

Keanu Reeves.

20. What would you cook if Nic Cage was coming to your house for dinner?

A fresh peach.
