We haven’t gotten too much regarding Jessica Jones in the months since Daredevil proved that Marvel could do television the right way (even if it was on a streaming service). There’s been some peeks at set photos, some official glimpses of Luke Cage and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, and David Tennant visited Marvel to get acquainted with the company. Now, we have an official logo in two different varieties.

The show’s official Twitter account revealed the black logo on Friday and the purple you see above (minus Ritter) graces the Netflix page for the show. The purple one is a little more ominous considering Tennant’s role as the Purple Man, but it’s nice to know we’re getting ready to ramp this thing up a bit.

Not to mention I didn’t know they dropped the AKA from the title, which makes sense but brings back visions of John Carter in my head. The synopsis sounds cool (as was Carter to an extent), but hopefully people aren’t turned off by the name:

After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.

At least that Marvel logo is there above the title to pull in those confused folks. Should be exciting when this premieres later in the year, especially considering the extremes we’ll apparently see on the screen.

Also revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, it was revealed that Jessica Jones will immediately have a connection to what we’ve already seen in Daredevil, especially when it comes to certain characters:

Jessica will have company in the strong female character department, though, as Rosenberg confirmed one major Daredevil crossover. “I think I’m allowed to say: Rosario Dawson will be dropping in,” she revealed.

Marvel previously announced that Dawson had signed a deal that would have her return for Daredevil’s second season, as well as make appearances in any of the four Defenders series. But now it’s official! Rosenberg added, “Smaller characters that populated that world will be popping in.”

One can only hope we get some hints at The Punisher here, just a smidge. Not even an appearance, but just his presence in the world.
