With Lamar Odom’s life hanging in the balance, and it not looking positive for the former NBA star, things have gotten ugly between the family of his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, and Dennis Hof, the owner of the Nevada brother where Odom’s unconscious body was found. On Wednesday, Hof went on Nancy Grace and stated that he had told the Kardashians to “go to hell” when asked that he not speak to the media about the tragic incident; a plea he had obviously ignored. Hof has since spoken to Wendy Williams and TMZ about the events that unfolded during Odom’s stay.

On Friday, representatives for Khloe Kardashian released a statement to Us Weekly confirming that they had in fact reached out to Hof and explained why they had done so.

“We reached out to Dennis,” the statement to Us read. “Politely asking him to respect Lamar’s (and Khloe’s) privacy during this difficult time, and refrain from talking to the press. This is a very painful situation, as I know you are aware, and the idea that anyone would use it to seek publicity is really sad.”

This comes following unsubstantiated reports that Keeping Up with the Kardashian cameras had been seen at the hospital where Odom is being treated. The family also released a joint statement Thursday that they’ve decided to hold off publishing content on their apps while they continue to support and pray for Lamar, thanking fans for their understanding during this difficult time. In either case, we hope that both parties remember the important thing, that a man’s life is at stake here.
