Watch The Trailer For Aziz Ansari’s Netflix Series, ‘Master Of None’

Aziz Ansari has only starred in two TV shows: Human Giant and Parks and Recreation. That’s a stellar track record, and a hopeful indication that Master of None should be a success. The Netflix series, which premieres Nov. 6, was created by Fire Joe Morgan alumnus Alan Yang and Ansari, who stars as Dev, “a 30-year-old actor in New York who has trouble deciding what he wants to eat, much less the pathway for the rest of his life… Dev’s story takes him through subjects as diverse as the plight of the elderly, the immigrant experience, and how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner.”

Based on the trailer, it looks like Ansari’s playing a more grounded version of Tom Haverford. He still makes child-like comments on Instagram about food, but now he walks by a river with his hands in his coat, the universal symbol for “sad bastard.” Master of None also stars SNL‘s Noël Wells, H. Jon Benjamin, Eric Wareheim, and Aziz’s real parents, because “there are not a ton of old Indian guys that are actors, and I feel my dad is uniquely funny.”

If you’ve been waiting for a show in which Aziz discusses condoms breaking while Iggy Pop’s “Nightclubbing” plays, this is the one for you.
