A Doctor In Tennessee Diagnosed A Female Patient With ‘Ghetto Booty’

A 55-year old woman in Jackson, Tennessee recently visited Sports Orthopedics and Spine to have her back pain treated, but instead of receiving a complete diagnosis and some relief for her discomfort, she received one of the more unprofessional medical treatments in recent memory. Terry Ragland is accusing Dr. Timothy Sweo of diagnosing her back pain as “ghetto booty” and the not-so-good doctor isn’t denying that claim.

While Sweo reportedly told Ragland that there was “no cure for Ghetto Booty,” it is unknown if he was able to diagnose and treat himself for his dual bout of foot-in-mouth and acute dipsh*t-itis.

“What I was trying to explain to that patient is that she has lumbar lordosis, which is a fancy name for the curve of the lower spine that makes the buttocks protrude more. In trying to explain that I said that she had ghetto booty and she didn’t like that apparently. That was my attempt to explain why she had the back problem. It wasn’t the whole problem but it was part of it and she got upset about it,” said Sweo by phone. “You cannot cure lumbar lordosis.”

“I think I do understand why her feelings were hurt but I don’t understand what’s offensive about it,” said Sweo.

“It’s not endearing. It’s not loving. It’s not a compliment. It’s wrong in every aspect and it’s very demeaning,” said Ragland. (Via WREG Memphis)

Ragland has filed a complaint with the Tennessee Department of Health, as she believes that Sweo’s behavior, at the very least, was incredibly unprofessional and sexist. In the meantime, I’m just going to sit back and enjoy the fact that I got to write the phrase “no cure for ghetto booty” today.
