A ‘Scream’ TV Series Is A Thing That’s Going To Happen (And The Morning Links)

Yes, yes, yes: MTV, which announced it would be making a series based on Scream last year, is moving ahead, ordering a pilot for the series, which will be directed by Wes Craven, the man who directed the movie. The writer, Kevin Williamson, has not been mentioned in connection with the pilot, as of yet. How do you turn that movie into a series? Thirteen episodes involving murders culminating in the capture of the serial killer? Sounds like The Killing or The Following, only with dumb, annoying teenagers. Wouldn’t it be great if the serial killer were revealed to be Neve Campbell’s Sydney Preston? Yes, yes it would.
