When he’s not taking selfies at Cannes (pictured above), Alec Baldwin is giving interviews about the many, many projects he’s working on. We don’t hear as much about the projects he’s turned down, but The Playlist landed a couple of those exclusives.

“[The makers of] Grand Theft Auto came to me to do a voice of some mobster, many years ago, for Grand Theft Auto 2. … and they offered this incomprehensible amount of money for one day’s work. And they offered me a pile of money, this ridiculous amount of money to just come in a record this voice for one or two days,” Baldwin said. “And I turned them down because [the character] was a cop killer. And I didn’t want to get near that [because] of my reputation; I have enough problems with the press as it is. I said no.” [The Playlist]

He says it was the second game, but we suspect he meant Tommy Vercetti in Vice City, a role which we’re glad went to Ray Liotta. Just sayin’.

Alec Baldwin is just sayin

Alec Baldwin also revealed Marvel and Disney approached him for a supporting role in one of their comic book adaptations. (They couldn’t resist his Schweddy Balls.) He couldn’t work out scheduling issues even though he was “very eager to do it”. Man, and we were so looking forward to hearing him say “I am Groot!” twenty-eight different ways….

He’ll just have to cope with the loss of all that money.
