Amber Tamblyn Channels Donald Trump To Perform Color Me Badd In This ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Preview

If you were an adolescent girl in the early ’90s, you probably had, shall we say, an “affection” for Color Me Badd, and if so, consider that another thing indirectly ruined by Donald Trump. In this preview for this week’s Lip Sync Battle, Amber Tamblyn lampoons Trump’s sexual assault scandals by donning an ill-fitting suit, red tie, and bad wig to dress up as the Republican candidate and grind on her poor Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costar America Ferrera to the R&B group’s hit song “I Wanna Sex You Up.” Behind them as this whole scene plays out are posters cleverly spoofing Trump’s campaign, declaring “I [heart] Hispanic” and “Make [photo of America Ferrera] Great Again.”

While it seems all in good fun, there was a deeper meaning behind the performance. Tamblyn was one of hundreds, if not thousands of women who shared a sexual abuse story on social media following the leak of Trump’s 2005 taped remarks earlier this month, of the then-reality TV host bragging about kissing and groping women without their permission. Unsurprisingly, Trump’s words triggered PTSD among many rape survivors and victims of sexual abuse. In just three shorts weeks, women across the country will have their day at the polls, so in the meantime we’ll just have to resort to mocking the thin-skimmed demagogue like this.
