Jamie Brewer, who’s appeared in three of American Horror Story‘s four seasons, became the first model with Down syndrome to walk the runway during New York Fashion Week yesterday. Brewer, who also helped pass legislation in Texas that banned the word “retarded” (Intellectual Developmental Disability is the preferred term), wore “clothing by designer Carrie Hammer as part of Hammer’s ‘Role Models Not Runway Models’ show,” according to USA Today. Her look was based on her character from AHS: Coven, where she played young witch Nan.

Brewer played a witch on American Horror Story so Hammer put her in black with an A-line cut. “Jamie has this beautiful figure with a small waist. A-lines really compliment that,” Hammer said about the design. (Via)

She also tweeted images of herself getting ready.
