Andrew Lincoln Is Stoked About A Potential ‘The Walking Dead’ Movie

The idea of a The Walking Dead movie has never really been in play before, but with the series expanding the brand into a spin-off series, Fear the Walking Dead, and now series creator Robert Kirkman signing a two-year development deal with Universal pictures, the prospect of such a movie doesn’t seem so far fetched anymore.

In fact, it’s something that’s been talked about amongst The Walking Dead cast, and according to Andrew Lincoln in an interview with The Inquirer, he would be stoked to make a movie based on the series.

That would be amazing. It’s something we’ve been talking about and dreamt of because it would be cool to see some snow. We were all going, just not to have to film in Atlanta where it gets to 100 degrees!

Wait? It’s really something they’ve “talked about” and “dreamt about”? Is there any reason beyond just getting out of the hot weather of Atlanta? Why yes, there is, Lincoln tells The Inquirer:

What would be amazing is that you can play with form, time and chronology and maybe also rediscover characters who are no longer in the show. Certainly, with that format, you can do something very interesting and ambitious.

I honestly don’t know what they could do that’s more ambitious than what the series does already, but if they ever kill off Daryl Dixon, the man deserves to die on the big screen. It’s easier to revolt when there are more of us collected in movie theaters than when we’re dispersed around our television screens.
