Let’s Liveblog Wednesday’s Geeky TV: ‘Arrow’ Mourns A Lost Hero

Before it took a short break, Arrow did the unthinkable. Well, OK, the very-much-thinkable: It bumped off Laurel (Katie Cassidy), who’d been on the show since episode one but hadn’t exactly been a fan favorite. So yes, the mystery of just who is in the grave has been solved, and now everybody gets to share their feelings of grief. Which, in Diggle’s case, seems to involve beating up the wife of the guy directly responsible. Despite Ollie’s lecture in the preview, though, you have to ask why Ollie was OK with Diggle going full Punisher on HIVE until now.

The other question, of course, is how long it’ll be before Laurel comes back. Of all the deaths on this show that we’ve seen, only a handful have really stuck, and even then, they still return for flashbacks and dream sequences. We’re a little surprised Ollie’s dear friend Tommy hasn’t turned up in a flashback this season. Heck, White Canary supposedly died on Ollie’s sinking ship in the pilot, then died again during the third season, only to come back and join another TV show. At this rate, we won’t be surprised if the CW announces Black Canary, Mondays at 8 at San Diego Comic-Con. We’ll find out just what the show has in store for its final few episodes tonight at 8pm on the CW. Join us, won’t you?
