Yesterday Fox released the full-length trailer for next fall’s “GLEE,” the new show about a high school choir that will get a sneak preview this spring after the “American Idol” finale. It’s from the creators of “Nip/Tuck,” and it stars, uh… some young people who are good at singing. But more importantly, it looks good.
Now listen: no one likes calling things gay more than I do. Especially musical theater stuff. I like a good joke about jazz hands. I’ve wanted to strangle people who walk around singing opera or show tunes. So yeah, it would be easier to be all macho and act like I’m above watching this. On the other hand, “GLEE” has jokes about cripples and hepatitis. And if I missed out on that, I’d just be cheating myself.
Of course, maybe I just identify with the hunky young quarterback who also stars in the school’s musical. In that I was in the school’s musical and had a crush on the hunky young quarterback. Wait, what?
