Things Get Awkward At James Corden’s ‘The Late Late Show’ Gift Exchange

Christmastime is here, and that means that there is a good chance that you’re participating in at least one Secret Santa scenario. Whether it is a straight forward exchange or a White Elephant, it is certainly best to know the rules of engagement before attempting to find the perfect gift. Otherwise, you could be caught in an uncomfortable situation where they got you something fancy from Pottery Barn, and you return the favor with soap shaped like poop. Hilarious, but kind of a bummer in the long run.

While The Late Late Show is on hiatus this week for the holidays, James Corden and crew decided to leave fans with some serious cringe comedy in the meantime. When the writers’ room gathers for some good old gift giving, Corden soon realizes that no one else stuck to the agreed upon $15 limit. As the presents given continue to escalate in ridiculous scale (unless you love your coworkers waaaay more than most), Corden handles the situation in such a way that even Michael Scott would frown upon. When someone tracks down a first edition of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, a gift card to Coffee Bean And Tea Leaf and $7 cash just isn’t going to cut it. That Carpool Karaoke sweater is pretty great, though.
