Bobby Brown Is Getting A Reality Show That Will Focus On His “Life And Businesses”

Apparently someone up and made it my birthday today without telling me, because not only is there going to be a new reality show about police dogs, there is also going to be a new reality show starring Bobby Brown that focuses on his “life and businesses,” which is something that made me smile from ear-to-ear when I typed it because (a) Bobby Brown has businesses, plural, and; (b) YES.

BET is preparing a new project with Brown, whose stormy marriage with late singer Whitney Houston was chronicled in his 2005 Bravo reality series “Being Bobby Brown.” Sources said the new series would revolve around Brown’s “life and businesses.”

The project with Brown, who is currently touring with the reunited New Edition, will be executive produced by James DuBose, who has developed several other celebrity-based reality shows for BET. One of his most high-profile series centered on Philadelphia Eagles star Michael Vick, who staged a comeback after being imprisoned for his involvement in a dogfighting ring. [LA Times]

OK, three things:

– Just so we’re clear, there is a 10-15% chance I watch this show, max. Bobby Brown is both an R&B star from the 80s/90s and a crazy person, and I, in general, love both of those things with all of my heart, but I don’t know what the end game is here. His old reality show with Whitney Houston where they were as high and combustible as zeppelins was some of the trainwreckiest television I have ever seen (Exhibit A), but in the wake of Whitney’s death its legacy is more sad than anything else. Bobby claims to be clean now, and he is still is ridiculous human being when sober, but I’m just afraid that it won’t be quite as enjoyable knowing what we know. Don’t get me wrong, I will still follow it closely and consume bonkers clip from it at an alarming rate, but I probably won’t be a regular viewer.

– Remember when Bobby Brown made that music video for the song from the Ghostbusters II soundtrack and Donald Trump popped up out of nowhere at the 1:18 mark like it was a totally normal thing to have happen in an R&B video by an artist who would later make a song dedicated entirely to humping? That was great.

– Speaking of Bobby Brown and humping, here is a GIF of Bobby Brown humping some stairs:
