Watch David Spade Make An Oscar Grab In His Dramatic Turn For ‘Bleak’

Many comedic actors, at some point in their careers, will try their hand at super serious, award-baiting drama. Adam Sandler had Punch Drunk Love. Jim Carrey had Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Robin Williams had Dead Poet’s Society and Good Will Hunting, not to mention a few others.

But David Spade, who has been actively working since the late ’80s, has never dipped his toe into dramatic waters. Until now, that is. On Monday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, we got a glimpse of what a dramatic David Spade movie might looks like, with Spade starring as a pill-popping, philandering, uh, guy who likes to run, co-starring Selma Blair who can currently be seen brushing up on her acting chops as Kris Jenner in American Crime Story, and… Maybe we’ll just stick to more Joe Dirt movies? Some actors are just never meant to win an Oscar.
