David Tennant is the latest actor heading to the Marvel Universe. The British actor known to most for his portrayal of the tenth doctor in Doctor Who has been added to the cast of Marvel’s new Netflix series A.K.A. Jessica Jones. From THR:

Tennant will play the villainous Killgrave, an enigmatic figure from Jessica’s past whose reappearance will send shockwaves through the former superhero’s world. The 13-episode series will premiere on Netflix in 2015.

Killgrave, aka the Purple Man, first showed up in Daredevil issue No. 4 back in October 1964. A.K.A. Jessica Jones is the second of four new Netflix shows set to focus on Marvel heroes. Krysten Ritter will star as the title character and the 13 episode series will premiere later this year.

Update: The headline has been corrected to reflect that this is not Marvel’s first Netflix series.
