People Were Wholeheartedly Led To Believe That Donald Trump Is Competing On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

The conceit of the “Lie Witness News” segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live is that people are gullible enough to say or agree to anything in order to be interviewed on television. And with the absurdity of the 2016 election season, there has been no better time for this, as Kimmel has done everything from getting Hillary Clinton supporters to agree with Donald Trump quotes to getting others to believe that Clinton emailed Bill Cosby jokes to Vladimir Putin.

Tuesday night was no exception, as Kimmel’s team on the street went up to random people to see how they thought Donald Trump did on Dancing with the Stars the previous night, only — of course — Donald Trump did not appear on Dancing with the Stars, nor is the reality series even currently airing. (The new season starts September 12.)

“But did that prevent people from giving their takes on Trump’s imaginary performance?,” Kimmel asked. The answer, of course, is “absolutely not.” Is it really so absurd, though? That a former reality star would appear on a reality TV show, regardless of whether or not he’s running for president? Especially since Trump had reportedly even planned to continue starring on The Apprentice in the White House.

So sure, you may have been made a fool on national TV, random people, but never stop hoping that one day Trump’s wig really will fall off on Dancing with the Stars. Dream big.
