Earlier today, E! Online reported that Eric Stonestreet, who plays the flamboyant Cam on Modern Family, has quietly been dating Real Housewife and peddler of diet products Bethenny Frankel for a couple of months now. As evidence, they cite the above photograph that was taken at the 2015 CAA Upfronts Celebration Party back in May, as well as Stonestreet and Frankel supposedly being spotted by an “eyewitness” at the Dodgers game last Monday against the Phillies.
Rival gossip outlet Us Weekly was quick to dispute E! Online’s claims, however, pointing out this tweet from Frankel, claiming that she was not even in Los Angeles at the time:

E! Online is not backing away from this story, though, and even issued a follow up titled: “People Are Confused By Eric Stonestreet and Bethenny Frankel’s Romance, But What Don’t You Understand?” because the concept of an actor who plays a gay man on television is obviously confusing to many E! Online readers. They also use this Frankel tweet from last Saturday as irrefutable evidence that she’s clearly in a new relationship:

Stonestreet, for his part, is joking around about the situation:
