“You’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t.”
Well things seem to be going swimmingly for the Rayburns in the first trailer for Bloodline Season 2. After killing their brother Danny in Season 1 and then covering up his death, things aren’t getting any easier for this incredibly dysfunctional family. Despite his corporeal presence no longer a threat to John or the rest of the Rayburns, Danny’s ghost is apparently still a very real and annoying occurrence. The perils of murdering a family member and then hoping to brush everything easily under the rug, apparently.
Of course, Danny’s death didn’t solve every problem that he caused in Season 1. On top of trying to keep the truth of his death a secret, the Rayburns are still also trying to sort out their financial troubles, maintain personal relationships with their partners and children, and still run a family business. Sounds easy! With multiple Emmy nominations for Season 1, the series definitely has some work to do to top all of the dramatics and intensity in a second season. It’s good to see that Ben Mendelsohn is back in some capacity this season even though his character bit the dust. He may be all big-time now with a role in Rogue One, but his gravitas adds so much to Bloodline’s level of quality that the show would definitely take a step down without him.
