Fox News Reported On A Fake Story Demonizing Obama From A Satirical Website

To be human means you’re going to lie from time to time. For instance, I’m a 18-year-old blonde hair, blue eye babe with a rack that doesn’t quit *giggle noise*. See. I fibbed. It’s only natural. But choose your lies wisely; otherwise, you’ll be Fox News straight-faced reporting on a clearly made-up story on an obviously satirical website.

On yesterday’s broadcast of Fox & Friends, during a discussion about the closure of the World War II Memorial, the dream team of Blonde Woman and two Robot Co-Hosts claimed that President Obama has “offered to pay out of his own pocket for the museum of Muslim culture.” Anna Kooiman’s quote in full:

The Republican National Committee is offering to pay for it to keep it open so that the veterans from Honor Flight are going to be able to go and see this because who did it honor? It honored them. It really doesn’t seem fair, especially — and we’re going to talk a little bit later in the show too about some things that are continuing to be funded. And President Obama has offered to pay out of his own pocket for the museum of Muslim culture out of his own pocket, yet it’s the Republican National Committee who’s paying for this.

About that: 1) no, he didn’t, 2) the “Museum of Muslim Culture” isn’t a thing, and 3) their source material was an article on the National Report, a website with the disclaimer of, “National Report is a news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways. All news articles contained within National Report are fiction, and presumably fake news.” This is definitely fake news.

But I’m sure the average Fox & Friends viewer is wise enough to know all this, right? Right…?
