‘Full House’ Re-Imagined As A Gritty Cop Drama Is Like ‘The Wire’ Meets TGIF

The men of Full House — John Stamos, Bob Saget, and Dave Coulier — joined Stephen Colbert Wednesday night to chat about the success of Fuller House. Saget points out that there’s room for more than just one reboot, though, and as such they’ve got a couple in the works. And they just happened to bring a clip for one such reboot, “Full House Nights,” in which the trio play “adult roommate detectives who have seen a little too much.”

The premise is that after the Tanner girls go to sleep, the Full House daddies hit the “mean streets of San Fransisco” and solve crimes, naturally. As it turns out, Stephen Colbert himself has a pretty substantial role in the pilot as “Dimitri,” a drug smuggler who refuses to divulge the location of the next shipment, as he tells Stamos in the clip, “I don’t know what you’re talking about, strangely young-looking man.”

When Stamos’ bad cop and Saget’s good cop don’t get the job done, Coulier’s “impressionist cop” steps in and saves the day. And in true Full House form, at the end of the day, everyone learns an important lesson. To be honest, I would hands down watch “Full House Nights” over Fuller House, any day of the week. Take notice, Netflix.
