The sixth season of Game Of Thrones is right around the corner and it seems like every other day a star of the show is in the news for one reason or another. Today’s reason actually has nothing to do with the show, as news broke that Carice van Houten, the actress who plays Melisandre, is expecting. Yes, everybody’s favorite Red priestess with the power to resurrect John Snow but whose power of clairvoyance is clearly not as strong as she believed is with child.
People magazine did the honors, announcing early Saturday that the van Houten and actor Guy Pearce were expecting their first child. Nobody wants to go to that baby shower.
Naturally, the 39-year-old actress knew the Game of Thrones sect of the internet would get hold of this news and run wild with it so she decided to preempt them all with the absolute perfect response.

Maybe she really can see the future in those fires? Well, except for the whole Shireen Baratheon thing but that’s a story for another day. Another very sad and very depressing day where nothing is right and everything is terrible. Where you need a bunch of hugs and a mug of cocoa.
