Game Of Thrones author George R. R. Martin took at break from killing everyone we love and not writing The Winds Of Winter to attend the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards, where the HBO show about ice and fire and “t*ts and dragons” just racked up more combined Emmys than any other scripted series ever. Martin and Game Of Thrones co-showrunner D.B. Weiss spoke to Deadline backstage after the show’s big Emmy win for Outstanding Drama Series, where Weiss spoke about future seasons and Martin revealed a Game Of Thrones prequel may be in the cards (the heartbreaking, blood-spattered cards).

“I do have thousands of pages of fake history of everything that led up to Game of Thrones, so there’s a lot of material there and I’m writing more,” Martin told Deadline, presumably while rubbing his hands and chortling about all the new Westeros denizens he can kill. He then called the prequel “speculation” even though he’s the one starting the rumor, as usual. “At the moment we still have this show to finish and I still have two books to finish so that’s all speculation.”

Also, we would like to take a moment to inform you this photograph exists:

In the same backstage interview, co-showrunner D.B. Weiss gave his assessment of the final two seasons of Game Of Thrones: “it will be bigger and it will be better, but it will also be worse but mostly better.”

We’re guessing that means there’s not so much of a friendly dragon named Gary as there is a bunch of beloved characters dying. This is fine. I’m fine.
