The Old And New ‘Ghostbusters’ Combined On ‘Kimmel’ With A Slew Of Classic Stories

Jimmy Kimmel’s Ghostbusters reunion truly provided everything a fan of the original films would want in a television interview. Bill Murray acted a bit crazy, Annie Potts seemed willing to join in on the fun, Dan Aykroyd was pleased to be promoting a new Ghostbusters movie, and Ernie Hudson seemed happy to be there.

Guillermo dressed as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and joined the group on the couch for a bit at the insistence of Bill Murray. It was odd for those few moments, but then it led to some good stories. Aykroyd even shared the story behind the creation of the giant marshmallow monster in the film.

The second segment had the originals conversing with some fans via satellite and judging Ghostbusters tattoos from around the globe. People clearly really enjoy their classic ’80s movies quite a bit if they’re willing to get full leg tattoos of Harold Ramis.

But the final treat is what people were waiting to see. The stars of Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters remake appeared on the earlier Game Night special, but they showed back up to share the stage with the original group. Murray laid the praise on heavy, while Aykroyd echoed what he posted on Facebook.

Of course the entire thing had to end with a dance party to the original theme song:
