Giovanni Ribisi Tries To Con Bryan Cranston (And Everyone Else) In The New ‘Sneaky Pete’ Trailer

After leaving Breaking Bad in 2013, Bryan Cranston has spent most of his time starring as a big-time movie actor in films like Godzilla, Trumbo and Kung Fu Panda 3. The career move has paid off, too, as Cranston’s cinematic oeuvre now includes several awards chatter-inducing performances — and will surely garner even more for him down the line. Yet as his recent Saturday Night Live cameo proved, Cranston’s fans really want to see more of him on television, and their wish will come true when Amazon’s new show Sneaky Pete streams on January 13, 2017.

CBS initially passed on the Sneaky Pete pilot, which it ordered from executive producer Cranston and Justified creator Graham Yost this past January. Almost a year later, however, the new show starring Cranston as the gangster Vince and Giovanni Ribisi as Marius is set to premiere on Amazon Prime. To announce this fact, the streaming service launched a new trailer on Thursday showcasing highlights from the original Sneaky Pete pilot, and additional episodes filmed following Amazon’s decision to give it a full series order.

Sneaky Pete follows Marius’s efforts to become Pete, his cell mate (played by Ethan Embry), once he makes it out into the real world after serving time. Why? Because he and his brother owe Vince at least $100,000, and if Marius doesn’t pay up in time, Cranston’s delightfully twisted baddie will do horrible things to his brother (and presumably everyone else he knows). To accomplish this, Marius’s sojourn into Pete’s life includes his shacking up with the real Pete’s estranged family for a criminally insane version of Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner. Hopefully the food’s good.
