Let’s Talk This Week’s Geeky TV: ‘Gotham’ Gets Revenge, ‘Supergirl’ Crosses Over

Last week on Gotham, it was basically a twenty-scheme pile-up. Nygma learned Penguin killed the woman he loved. Bruce discovered the creepy secret conspirators he’d bargained with were back-stabbing jerks. Don Falcone threatened to come out of retirement and burn Gotham City to the ground. And Gordon finally managed to convince everybody that, no, seriously, he and Leslie were done because he had burned that bridge. Just in time for her decent, loving doctor boyfriend, Falcone’s son, to turn out to be infected with a rage virus.

So, yeah, things are going to get interesting fast on Gotham. And that’s not even factoring in the huge pack of supervillains who apparently have just been kicking back and enjoying brewskis for most of this season. We’re sure that won’t come up. We’ll find out tonight at 8pm EST on Fox.

Meanwhile, in an alternate universe:

Supergirl kicks off the big crossover in grand comic book style. By which we mean most of this episode is a standard Supergirl story, with a scene at the end where Barry runs in and recruits her to punch aliens. Which is a good thing since last episode left some major questions open, not least of which is why Hank Henshaw would call himself “Cyborg Superman” since he’s never pretended to be Superman? Seriously, Hank, it’s called #branding. Anyway, since last episode ended with Hank wanting to know more about “Medusa,” and this episode is titled “Medusa,” we’re assuming it’ll largely deal with that. That’ll be on at 8pm EST on the CW. Join us, won’t you?
