Let’s Talk This Week’s Geeky TV: ‘Gotham’ Follows A White Rabbit, While ‘Supergirl’ Chases Aliens

Last week on Gotham, Butch got thrown to the wolves after trying to impress his boss, Penguin discovered the Riddler was his true “friend,” Bruce and Selina kissed, and Gordon continued to feel sorry for himself. That’s something we expect to continue tonight, when he’s stuck choosing between the love of his life and the woman he’s with now. If we had to bet on a winner, Valerie Vale isn’t the one who was in Deadpool and has a new baby, so, goodbye Lee!

Gotham has been bonkers since the start of the third season, but the election plotline, with its paper-thin homoerotic subtext, has been particularly amusing. And if you want it grim and campy, that’s tonight at 8pm EST on Fox, and we’ll be liveblogging. So what about the brighter, cheerier side of the DC television multiverse?

Heh, sorry, wrong clip. You see, this episode is titled “Welcome To Earth” and, you know, Will Smith says… I’m just going to roll the clip.

Lynda Carter as the President and Chyler Leigh with a bazooka are really the two big selling points here, although we guess Supergirl punching lots of aliens and exploring the alien refugee subculture on Earth, thus providing the show with a new depth and a distinctive theme, is also a bonus. We’ll see that tonight at 8pm EST on the CW. Join us, won’t you?
