If there were any doubt at all remaining about the future prospects of Happy Endings on ABC, that doubt should have been dispelled by the ratings of Friday night’s episodes. The show fell 38 percent from the last Friday episodes, two weeks ago, to a series low: 0.5 in the 18-49 demographic. For comparison’s sake, those episodes were seen by fewer Nielsen viewers than all the other canceled network sitcoms: Ben and Kate (1.2); Animal Practice (1.2); Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23 (1.1); Partners (1.8); and The Cleveland Show (.9). It’s worse than even Do No Harm on NBC (0.7). I’m concerned, in fact, that ratings were so bad that the USA Network may not even want it anymore.
