Hayley Atwell Wants To Come Back To ‘Agent Carter’ Whenever Marvel Asks

Peak TV can’t save every show, and despite cast hopes, Agent Carter said goodbye last season after 20 episodes. But, of course, that wasn’t the end of Peggy Carter in the Marvel timeline, as we’ve seen her turn up in Ant-Man, among other Marvel properties. In fact she doesn’t pass away until the events of Captain America: Civil War. So, could Peggy come back?

Hayley Atwell, the star of Agent Carter, has been doing the rounds to promote her upcoming procedural Conviction, so she’s asked about Carter’s return quite a bit. And if Marvel wants her back, for a TV special or a movie, she’d like to emphasize, once again, that she’d do it in a minute.

All I’m saying with that is, it’s still a much-loved show for the people involved in the making of it, and we know that the fans, it has a special place in their hearts. I would be very happy to go back to her if she became available… I hound [Marvel Studios co-president Louis] D’Esposito on a regular basis, saying, “Give me a movie!” I think the great thing about Peggy is, we know from “[Captain America: The] Winter Soldier” that she lives a long life, so she can come back.

It’s worth pointing out here that Deadpool, made for $60 million, grossed three-quarters of a billion dollars, and the Agent Carter fanbase is almost certainly larger than Wade Wilson’s before he shot his way into our hearts on a limited gun budget. We’re sure that somewhere amid the giant blockbusters, a $60 million Agent Carter movie wouldn’t get in the way. Just something the team at Marvel should think about.
