You saw the tweet. And you watched the talk-show appearance wherein Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson describe themselves fangirling all over Hillary Clinton when she filmed a cameo appearance on their show, Broad City.
Now we know when we’re getting our HRC Broad City episode. According to The Verge, Clinton will appear on this week’s episode, in which Ilana somehow gets a job with the Clinton campaign after getting fired for tweeting a bestiality video from her old job’s Twitter account.
At SXSW, Glazer and Jacobson shared that it was Amy Poehler that allowed the two to approach Clinton for the cameo appearance. Poehler is connected because she executive produces Broad City and used to play Clinton on Saturday Night Live. The episode’s director also had a friend who works for the campaign, and so Jacobson and Glazer ended up having more than one option in approaching Clinton.
Before Clinton filmed her appearance, the duo was “prepared to not be surprised or offended if Clinton cancelled,” and that her overall time spent on set was only 45 minutes. I don’t know, though — that’s a lot of face time from somebody running for president.
No word yet on when Bernie Sanders is making his Broad City appearance.
