Here’s Why You Might See A ‘Broad City’ Crossover With ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ In The Future

Well, that’s it.  If anyone was having a discussion about the most perfect potential roommate pairing in comedy, that debate is over. It already happened. Because apparently Broad City’s Ilana Glazer and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rachel Bloom lived together in New York about six years ago.

Bloom confirmed that the two used to live together in an absurdly adorable Instagram post of the two of them earlier this morning. “6 years ago we were roommates in Brooklyn and now we have tv shows,” Bloom posted in the photo’s caption. The two former roomies have been taking the comedy world by storm over the last few years.  Glazer is one half of the impeccable Broad City, which she makes with fellow comedian Abbi Jacobson.  The show was recently renewed for a fourth AND fifth season and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Bloom is the star and mastermind of 2015’s biggest new comedy series, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which airs on the CW. In addition to acclaim for the show being almost universal, Bloom also earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series.

Knowing this connection exists now, it’s hard to not clamor for some sort of Broad City/Crazy Ex-Girlfriend crossover. But at the very least, it means that there’s always a chance we’ll see these two brilliant comedians collaborate someday. We’ll be waiting patiently until then.
