The second half of The Walking Dead season six kicks off on Valentine’s Day — the perfect litmus test to see if your relationship values are aligned properly. To say people are hyped is an understatement. The first half of season six caused mass hysteria on the internet when one of the show’s main characters seemed to meet a gruesome fate. And now the second half is set to introduce Negan, a new human enemy for Rick’s gang to battle with. Fans of the show are both excited and nervous, because one of Negan’s big things in the comic book is beating people to death with a baseball bat.
Pretty unlovable behavior, but it’s gonna be hard to hate Negan completely when he’s being played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan of Watchmen, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Good Wife fame. Here he is on Late Night with Seth Meyers talking about the role:
“If you’re a fan of the comic books you’ll know who Negan is. It’s the real deal, he’s a game changer. And it’s a complete 180 from what I’m doing on The Good Wife. Which as an actor is like a dream come true. I get to be the biggest ass in the world. When I took The Walking Dead, my mom was like ‘What is this going to mean with The Good Wife?’ She was devastated that it could be the end. And I was like ‘Mom, keep your pants on.’ “
That’s some Negan style deception there, Jeffrey Dean Morgan! All signs are pointing toward season seven of The Good Wife being its last, unless enough of their 35-54 year old demographic takes their pants off in protest.
It’s already too late for The Walking Dead fans to take their pants off to protest main character deaths at the hands of Negan. The second half of The Walking Dead season six is filmed and in the can. Whoever is going to bite the dust at the hands of Negan and his trusty baseball bat is already doomed. Will it be Glenn, like in the comics? Or will it be Maggie, as hinted by Lauren Cohan’s recent transformation from long haired Southern belle to pixie?
