Jennifer Aniston has a new movie coming out soon, Office Christmas Party, which of course means every reporter is going to ask her about a potential Friends reunion. The full cast hasn’t been seen in public together since the hit NBC show went off the air in 2004 — the closest we came was earlier this year at the James Burrows tribute, where everyone but Matthew Perry (and, I guess, Gunther and Marcel) was in attendance — and there’s little chance one’s happening anytime soon. Getting the gang (and Gunther and Marcel) back together wouldn’t even work, Aniston claims.
“I don’t know what we would do,” she said. “I think that period of time was sort of nostalgic, you know? There’s something about a time where our faces weren’t shoved into cell phones and we weren’t, like, checking Facebooks and Instagrams, and we were in a room together — or at a coffee shop together — and we were talking… And we’ve lost that.” Instead, if Friends fans want to see cast members revive the characters that made them multi-millionaires, they’ll have to settle with Aniston amusingly confronting Vanessa Bayer during “Weekend Update” on SNL over her achingly 1990s Rachel Green impression.
