When The Tonight Show dives into guests doing impressions, we’re usually in for something entertaining. Tina Fey doing terrible impressions was pretty good, Kevin Spacey is always amazing, and Christina Aguilera likely broke Britney Spears’ heart with her impression alongside Jimmy Fallon. It’s usually a fine, harmless good time.
But now we might be entering the danger zone and Fallon himself is the culprit. Nobody wants Mike Tyson mad at them. We saw how Questlove reacted when he thought Tyson was mad about an Instagram jab. That wasn’t even that bad. This is full-on making fun of Mike Tyson’s signature way of speaking, something Jimmy Fallon does just a bit too well. He better watch out. Might end up being locked in a pigeon cage somewhere in the Bronx.
Josh Brolin and Kate McKinnon do their best to rock some good impressions on their own, showing off a nice Pee-wee Herman and a very medicated Regis Philbin. A tame Regis without the explosions of joy is a very odd Regis. Some sort of weird, sad nursing home Regis who still pretends he’s hosting a talk show. Forget Mike Tyson, I’m a little worried about Regis now.
