Jimmy Kimmel Will Host This Year’s Emmys

Joining a group which includes only the world’s most prominent entertainers, such as Tom Selleck, Jay Leno, and “No One,” Jimmy Kimmel will host this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards. Meaning, his voice will be the first one you hear after Matthew Weiner’s finished accepting the trophy for Best Drama.

The star and executive producer of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will host the Emmy Awards ceremony on Sept. 23 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

“I hope to be able to do for the Emmys this year what Eddie Murphy did for the Oscars,” Kimmel joked, referring to the comic actor who pulled out as host of this year’s Academy Awards. This is Kimmel’s first time hosting the Emmys. (Via)

I’m not the biggest fan of Kimmel’s, but I do enjoy his post-award show specials, or at least enjoying looking at them. Actually, can we just skip the first step (Kimmel), and go straight to Jessica Alba, Emily Blunt, Scarlett Johansson, Minka Kelly, and Sofia Vergara, maybe on trampolines? Highest. Rated. Emmys. Ever.
