Fuller House finally premieres on Netflix this Friday, February 26, and as you may be aware, neither Mary Kate nor Ashley Olsen will be reprising their role as Michelle Tanner — which has been something of a point of contention with both the series creators and original cast. So, you can interpret it how you will that John Stamos posted this throwback video of himself and Mary Kate and Ashley during a cast trip to Hawaii in 1989, when Stamos was just 25 years old and the girls three, in which the adorable toddlers lovingly give their co-star a hug (as well as a sock to the cheek).
Is the video meant to signify water under the bridge, or is it a gentle twist of the knife to remind the girls that they’re turning their backs on the very series that made them household names in the first place? Or is even that reading too much into it? Either way, the Olsen Twins clearly have more important things to do than take part in the reboot, like not inviting their co-stars when one of them marries the half brother of the former president of France. Things sure have changed over the years, from #GiveHimaHug to #BowlsFullOfCigarettes.
