Jon Hamm Will Reprise His ‘Mad Men’ Role One More Time For An Episode Of ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’

When AMC’s Mad Men signed off this year, fans of the show probably thought it would be the last time they’d see Jon Hamm as Don Draper. Hamm took home the Emmy this year (finally!) for Outstanding Actor in a Drama, and the award was long overdue. Perhaps sensing that there’s a little more gas in the Draper tank — or, the more likely reason, he likes SpongeBob SquarePants — Hamm will reprise his role as Don Draper for the Nickelodeon cartoon in an episode set to air in 2016…kinda.

In the episode, Hamm will play Don Grouper, a fishier version of his award-winning character. Nickelodeon stated that Hamm’s Grouper will be “a charismatic head ad executive of the ad agency Grouper, Goby & Koi. His sharp mind and devastating charm make him an irresistible force. When Don’s in the room everyone laps up his words like overpriced organic honey.”

Don Grouper’s stint on the show will involve him trying to help Mr. Krabs launch his frozen Krabbie Patties line of products. As of now, it’s unclear as to when the episode with Hamm and his aquatic doppelgänger will be airing, but here’s hoping that Grouper is partial to cigarettes and whisky.
