Watch Jon Stewart Gleefully Look Back At His Name-Calling War Of Words With Donald Trump

Jon Stewart’s last real appearance to talk about the current election was his wonderful throwback appearance on The Late Show. Back then it was Trump on the cusp of becoming the nominee is Cleveland, Stephen Colbert bringing back some of his Comedy Central character for some new fun, and Stewart taking over Colbert’s desk for a while. It was a nice time, but a lot has happened since then.

That might be why Stewart couldn’t resist bringing up the current GOP nominee and possible president during his appearance at Tuesday’s Stand Up For Heroes event in New York City. The 10th annual event took place at Madison Square Garden and featured Stewart alongside the big names of comedy: Louis CK, Jerry Seinfeld, and Jim Gaffigan. There was also an appearance from Bruce Springsteen, ensuring that the veterans in attendance got a good show and those who couldn’t make it were represented by the best you could name.

As Deadline reports, most of the acts steered clear of the politics, but Stewart couldn’t seem to help himself:

“Rigged?,” he asked in exasperation at Trump’s faux-underdog routine. “You live in a tower with your name on it in gold. How much better would you be if The Man wasn’t keeping you down?”

The big highlight can be seen above and involves Stewart going back over his Twitter war with Trump back in 2013. The one that ended with this final response from Trump at 1 in the morning:

It’s funny because now that we’ve seen Trump debate three times, we know that this Tweet is a bunch of Joe Biden brand malarkey. Stewart had a far better debate with his rival Bill O’Reilly and it turned out to be an actual debate. No whining about microphones or inviting random special guests to watch the show.

Either way, nice to see Jon Stewart is still out there doing good and speaking his mind. I would like to see him mess up Trump’s hair on national television.
