Ken Marino Is Coming To Save NBC With The Creator Of ‘Happy Endings’

I’m an avid fan of Party Down and Veronica Mars (SHUT UP!), so when I see Ken Marino get some love on a network, I’m all for it. He picked up a pilot for NBC called Marry Me from the creator of Happy Endings. A-MUH-ZING! Via Deadline:

Ken Marino is set as the male lead opposite Casey Wilson in Marry Me, NBC’s single-camera comedy pilot from Happy Endings creator-showrunner David Caspe, Sony TV and Jamie Tarses’ Fanfare. The project, directed by Seth Gordon, is said to be in the vein of Mad About You and revolves around a young couple (Marino and Wilson) who get engaged, something they quickly realize is harder than it looks.

This all screams of YAY, but my crushing curse of being a pessimist tells me, “Jeff, everything you love gets cancelled, and all the great television shows will hurt you, just like your like everyone you ever loved. Your shoes are untied.”

Let’s hope NBC promotes this show and people watch. No one want’s to see a 6’4 man cry in the middle of a grocery store on Social Security Sunday. NO ONE. I can’t go to the store up the street because of Happy Endings. You think I’m kidding? Ask Kerry, the cashier. She cried, but for a different reason. Now, let us never speak of this again.
