This morning we were all in such frothing excitement over the House of Cards season three trailer that we almost completely overlooked Kevin Spacey’s excellent Golden Globes acceptance speech last night for Best Actor in a Drama Series for season two of House of Cards. (Also, I admit that at this point in the broadcast I was fading fast thanks to a powerful combination of Chardonnay and cough syrup.)
After he took the stage initially channeling Frank Underwood, Spacey thanked the requisite people in needing of thanks, then declared it to be his eighth Golden Globes nomination — saying that he “cannot f*cking believe [he] won.” But because Kevin Spacey can pull off the F-bomb classier than anyone, he went on to finish up his speech with a poignant story about famed Hollywood director Stanley Kramer.
All the proof you need that 2015 is going to be the Year of Spacey.
