Kristen Bell is many things to many people. To whip-smart noir devotees, she’s the titular detective in Veronica Mars. To Forgetting Sarah Marshall fans, she sucks. To literally millions and millions and millions of children, she’s the voice of Princess Anna in Frozen. To anyone who paid to see Movie 43, well, you don’t exist, because no one paid to see Movie 43. To Dax Shepard, she’s one of the world’s biggest Game of Thrones fans, and his wife.

Bell dropped by CBS Sunday Morning over the weekend weekend to discuss Bad Moms, and what it’s like being married to the guy who gave us the immortal line, “I’m gonna mistrial my foot up your ass if you don’t shut up!” Actually, Bell and Shepard are adorable, and when they got hitched in 2013, they did so for only $142. “We got married in a tiny room in the Beverly Hills courthouse,” she said. “It was still one of the best days of my life.”

“He knows the value of things,” she said. “He was an addict for many, many years, and he pulled himself out of it. He’s been sober for almost 12 years now. He knows how many times he’s messed up, and how many times he’s been really close to losing everything.” (Via)

Shepard has spoken openly about addiction problems. In 2012, he told Playboy about how all the things he’d done — including “drinking, cocaine, opiates, marijuana, diet pills, pain pills, everything” — were “terrifying to her, and she had a hard time believing I would ever be able to stay married and monogamous and a father and all those things. For the first year and a half we were together that was what we battled over almost weekly.” Shepard eventually got clean, though, not only for himself, but also Bell and their two daughters. Family is always on Bell’s mind, too. “I’m always thinking, if I’m on a death bed, what am I going to be thinking about?” she said. “It won’t be some random movie I participated in or some TV show, it will be my family.”

As long as Bell’s family lets her win at Game of Thrones trivia.
