The greatest thing about Veep — other than its transcendent use of profane one-liners — is the complete lack of sentimentality from or for the characters. I love Parks and Recreation as much (and probably more) than the next person, but sometimes I want my comedy served cold and ruthless.
I don’t know that I’ve seen that aspect of the series showcased better in a trailer than in this new one using a meeting between Selena and a fancy new presidential campaign consultant (expertly portrayed by Diedrich Bader) to highlight everything terrible about the Vice President’s staff going into season three. Good times.
